What is HME?

Hobson Media Enterprises is the parent company for Hobson Ministry Consulting, Dynamic Seminars with Bill Hobson, and Michigan Golf Live. Founded in 1997, HME's initial entry into the world came when Michigan Golf Live radio hit the air on a small network of stations across Michigan. Today, MGL has grown in size and status in the golf and broadcasting industry. Now, golfers in every part of the state can listen on any of 13 stations that carry MGL Radio, and more than 3.5 million homes receive MGL-TV on Fox Sports Net-Detroit.

While MGL was growing, so was Bill's desire to use his marketing and speaking abilities to help families and ministries. The microphone and voice that was often used to interview top golfers (Bill with Lee Trevino pictured here) started to receive invitations to speak at churches, banquets, auctions, and other fundraising events.

Then, when Bill developed a family-oriented seminar dealing with the messages being conveyed by today's secular media (see description below), the Media and Your Mind topic became heavily requested - and still is today!

Along with broadcasting and speaking, HME has grown to include unique consultation to faith-based ministries around the nation. HME's primary function with those ministries is to help tell their stories within the communities being served. Bill Hobson's Background -

My attraction and love for public speaking got its genesis way back in my early teens when I appeared in TV commercials for my father's auto dealerships. The spots were awful (although at the time I thought they were worthy of Emmy consideration), but planted a seed of interest in the mind of a young boy...and that love continues to this day. For the last dozen years and counting, I have been privileged to interview some of the biggest names in the world of sports in my role as Sports Director for a Michigan TV station. Here are just a few of the people and events I have been privileged to cover:

But perhaps my most rewarding times have been spent talking with people who are not known around the country. I relish the moments spent gleaning insight and wisdom from men and women who have dealt with life's harshest treatment, and moved through it.

In some cases they have stared death in the face and not blinked. When circumstances weren't rolling in their favor, the requisite portion of whining that the majority of the world uses to escape - is not there. These people are the heroes of our time. They are driven by a purpose. They are driven by a cause. They are driven by a belief that doing the right thing is enough reason. I admire those people.

 Back in April of 2000, I made a major career change. Realizing that the business of TV — and commercialized entertainment in general — was headed in an uncomfortable direction, I left my position as Sports Director and Promotions Manager at the FOX-TV affiliate where I had spent nearly 10 years.
   I served as Director of Development at Carriage Town Ministries - a faith-based gospel rescue mission -  for 5 years before starting Hobson Ministry Consulting.
   As you consider whether or not to invite me to address your group, please know that my heart burns with the desire to share some powerful life lessons with your group.    Through the use of humor, emotion, stories from my vast major sports background, and the amazing lessons my young children seem to constantly supply, I would consider it an honor to be chosen to reach your group.
